One of the best benefits of practicing Permaculture is giving tours to people. Showing them the Permaculture Principles in action or Polycultures we have installed is great fun. We talk and share information. This week a couple from Michigan Stopped by with a friend from Edina, MN.

We walked through the deep snow looking at all the plants (or where they should be), the rain catchment Koi pond, a even back to the Bee hives. We toured the Polyculture Orchard and the grounds, then came inside for hot cocoa. Talked an hour more and went to an urban chicken dinner in Minneapolis. Jeff in Mpls raises chickens in his yard. He and his wife also can veggies and own a small farm in Wisconsin. We talked from 6 to 10:30 it was hard to leave and we all slowly migrated to the door.

It was a refreshing discussion hitting all the topics that drive we Permaculturalists. Did I take photos? No. Should have.

Anyway Chickens are back on the list of ventures here at SouthWoods.
