Snow Mulching and Winter Pics from SouthWoods

Nice day to be outside.
Bees think so, another house cleaning day at Larry's Bee Hives.

Snow Mulching seems to be working as expected, deep
snow covered with straw is staying put while uncovered snow by trees are melting fast as the wood mulch underneath heats up. Snow mulched trees have a good 4-6 inches of snow on top of the wood mulch. If we get a good drop of snow I may do all the trees to keep them buffered from an early spring thaw and late freeze.

Last spring's bloom was too early for the pollinators and then we
had a cold snap.
Apricot trees have black tubing around the trunks. I think they absorb too much sun and melt the snow.
Crab tree fruit with today's frost.
