Ecological Gardens
I worked last week with Paula, Milena and Laura of Ecological Gardens installing an urban backyard design. It was very shady but Milena did a great job working in a variety of partial sun and shade tolerant plants. The dappled light looked nice and cool. The family returned a couple days later from a trip to a transformed property.
The previous weeks design (no photos) was an edible garden for the grandchildren of a forward thinking suburban grandma. I think she will see great benefits from this prolific design sooner and broader than she imagined. 700 plus plants in a small back yard. A path maze wound through intertwined annual gardens, vegetable gardens and perennial fruiting shrubs. It took seven people three days to install. Next summer it should be well established and ready to grow in. The design contained Polyculture Plant Guilds and companion plants. Another great and hugely detailed design by Milena and Paula.
