Forever Spoiled, Forever Fed

I am out of green beans so I bought a bag of Green Giant. I have tried to boil, steam and stir fry them.
They taste like the grass my big brother shoved in my mouth when we wrestled on the lawn as kids.

They are tough, stringy, and tasteless.
Every time I grow something myself, I lose the ability to eat the any other (except from friends' gardens).
I went from canned as a kid to frozen vegetables as an adult.
Now after having a summers of fresh produce from my gardens I cannot eat anything from the store.
Even bread is either very expensive or styrowheat compared to my home baked flaxquinbuckmaiz honey loaf.

Fresh Acorn Squash soup? In a store? Not likely.
Potatoes from soil to plate in 30 minutes?  Awesome taste!
Cherry tomatoes from plant to lips, 3 seconds. Nothing better.
Our kitchen table is moving to the garden next summer. Live Dining!

The biggest sacrifice in the green revolution was the American palate.
