Elizabeth Gilbert on nurturing creativity | Video on TED.com
This excellent presentation morrors what we do and see in our quest for sustainable goals in forest garden designs. I was walking a site assessment yesterday when the "genius" came to me. The vision, pieces fell into place and I could relate a coherent concept to the client spanning the light, aspects, soil and moisture regimes. I could see the coming design and forest garden in a 30 second convergence of design drivers, topography and micro climate biomes. I ran around waving my arms pointing and brushing a concept in the eyes of the customers. But that is what a forest garden is. Performance art. The score was written long ago, get to make a new arrangement, pick the instruments, conduct, and in the middle of the piece, join the audience and watch the performance.
There is still much more work to do, but I have heard the melody.
