Charter School Garden an Orchard Design

This June we will install the Great River School Orchard and Vegetable Garden.

 The designs integrates annual gardens, perennial fruits shrubs and trees with teaching space and rotational planting. A large swale circulates rain water and diverts it to ground storage within the plant beds. Poylcultures of supporting plants are interplanted throughout the space. Trap crops catch insect pests and habitat for beneficial insects increases pest predators.
