Community Mandala Gardens are the Best
Changing community gardens to the Mandala Garden design will save energy, materials and increase community. Field crops and vegetables are separated to conserve space like Permaculture zones. The center is herbs, salad greens and daily table crops. The outer ring is field crops - corn, beans, and squash. These need less watering and attention and act as a barrier to pests. The orchard crops are fruiting shrubs, trees and perennials. like strawberry. Each garden is surrounded by vine crops on fencing, like grapes, raspberries, hops and perhaps some inter-planted beans.
These designs are scalable to any size and can change from year to year.
