How can I use Permaculture in my property?

Hi Dan,
I am new to the permaculture idea.  I am interesting in working with my very shaded area of my residence… lots of trees, little sun at this time.   Can you tell me, if I attend your class tomorrow, could be helpful with forest-like shady areaJ?

Hi Tracy,

I think attending the workshop will go a long way to helping you take advantage of the opportunity of the shaded area you have. The course focuses on the process of decision making to build natural capital on your property and work with it.  I have the same apparent attitude, trees stay and I adjust. However, more and more I have found that most beloved trees on a property are needing to be thinned out or removed to renew the carbon cycle and create better ecology on the property.  We grow some mushrooms in our shade and harvest the wood as needed.

We will focus on your property as a system, not an isolated detail or technique, but there is much to learn  and take in just touring our site.
