Changing the Shape of Community Gardening for Perpetual Harvest

Daniel Halsey

In October the 2011 Gardening Season starts for us. Up to eight IPM Community Gardens designs being implemented. The Mandala Team will be busy.

Some people think that small details are inconsequential to the design and they can make changes for their own reason. That was hard yesterday, but overall it went quite well.  The garden looked spectacular.  Today I am recuperating, thinking of design tweaks, and putting away my tools and materials. Not only do plants have to be site specific, but materials too. There is certainly no cookie cutter solution. The design is benign without a system in implementation based on site specific materials, watering regime and a supporting human social structure, any of which being dysfunctional, will cause the design to fail. Even the definitions of these things must be explained.

They look even better in color. This is the engineering version.
