2nd Annual Milwaukee Urban Permaculture Design Certification Course
August 18th-25th at the Washington Park Urban Ecology Center
The held at the Washington Park Urban Ecology Center. We are very pleased to have Dan Halsey, of the University of Minnesota as our lead instructor (see his impressive bio below).
The course begins on Friday evening at 6pm at Concordia Gardens for registration and an evening potluck. Classes will be held daily from August 18th-25th at the Washington Park Urban Ecology Center from 9-5. The last day of class will be August 26th from 9-12, where the certifications will be given to those who complete the course. We are offering the course this year for only $900! Limited discount scholarships are available and there is $100 discount for VGI members.
Each evening there may be supplementary events including movie viewing, potlucks, and groups discussions depending on the preferences of the group. On Saturday the 25th at 6:30pm we will have our final potluck and talent show for all area Permaculturists, including last year’s course participants and any VGI folks that would like to join us for the fun.
The PDC course will cover the core curriculum as per the Bill Mollison certification school with a special emphasis on Urban Permaculture lead by local Milwaukeeans doing permaculture here in the city. In order to obtain certification, each member of the course will implement the information learned in order to create a Permaculture Design for the Washington Park UEC.
Topics for design will be integrated into the PDC curriculum.
